「和気兆豊年」（わき ほうねん を きざす）は、「和やかな気が満ちるところに豊かな年が訪れる」という禅の教えを表した言葉です。本作品は、臨済宗 大徳寺派の禅僧・栗原密巌和尚（大正6年生まれ）による直筆の書です。栗原密巌和尚は、棟方志功画伯に私淑し、日本版画に多数入選したほか、美術協会員としても活躍し、書や美術の分野でも高い評価を受けた人物です。その感性が生きた書は、力強さと静謐さを兼ね備え、観る者の心に深く響きます。表千家の茶道の先生から譲り受けました。茶道の掛け軸、禅の精神を感じるインテリア、海外の日本文化愛好家への贈り物にもThis authentic Japanese scroll features calligraphy by Mitsugan Kurihara (1917), a Zen master of the Rinzai sect, Daitokuji school.Influenced by Shikō Munakata, Kurihara’s works were often selected for major exhibitions.
